Long tables and merged cells
Check column headings, measurement units and rows crossing page boundaries. A merged cell can define a meaningful group, so avoid removing merges simply to make the layout uniform. Review column widths within the writing area and verify that imported values remain in the correct rows and columns.
Images and result charts
Keep a high-quality original and inspect chart labels, legends and contrast at their final display size. A table image does not have editable cells. If you use image-to-table conversion, review values, merges and colors before confirming replacement. Automated recognition can misread numbers and symbols.
Captions and cross-references
Follow the institution’s rules for caption and note placement. Make sure text references point to the intended figures or tables and that numbering follows the required chapter scheme. After additions, deletions or moves, update the lists and verify exported page numbers. Consistent presentation does not establish the scientific accuracy of the data.

Common questions
Is a table image an editable table?
No. Converting it requires cell review before replacement. Recognition output needs validation.
Should every long table be reduced?
Not necessarily. Use a guideline-permitted layout that remains readable, such as adjusted columns, orientation or a structured split.
